The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is spreading temples around the world faster than ever in this day and age. Many people have driven by them, walked around the grounds, or even live neighboring one. This is a sign of the furthering of the Lord’s work on the earth and the expanding of His kingdom. Every time a new temple is built, it seriously blesses the area around it, and the forces of evil in the world are weakened.
So what are temples? Well, they are considered the holy houses of the Lord where His spirit can reside without obstacles. It is not the same as a church building or chapel. We don’t meet for church in temples. We go there for very specific reasons – we go there for sacred ordinances. Ordinances can be a difficult word for people who did not grow up hearing it. Ordinances are sacred and formal acts performed by someone with authority from God. To learn more about what regular members of our church have said about the difference between church and temples, visit http://www.mormon.org/faq/church-and-temple.
PS – – – I AM a working artist and am happy to sell artwork to people. These are some gifts for others I did with graphite and watercolor. I can do commissioned work for you at a reasonable price such as these temples (do you have a favorite??). Please contact me for more information if you’re interested! I also can sell prints or originals of the other artwork on this site.
