A Child of God – pencil and watercolor, April 2011

Most understand in one way or another that we are all children of God and that He is our loving Father in Heaven . . . How right they are! And most have heard it said in one way or another that newborn babies are innocent and come straight from heaven. . . How right they are! In whatever way they word it, with whatever detail they believe it, it is apparent that there is some inner spirit inside us that tells us these precious truths.  As Latter-Day Saints we know it is because our spirits lived with our Heavenly Father once before. Right now we are only off to school – living in a home away from home – until that glorious time where we can return unto God (Ecclesiastes 12:7).  There are certain things we must learn and do here on earth, but one day after we push through life “the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life” (Alma 40:11). Whether we live a life in which we are worthy to remain in that presence though is completely up to us.
I know that little children do come from our Father’s presence. I know that because of Christ they are innocent at birth. I made this picture for my sister’s birthday, and I hope she doesn’t mind that I’m sharing it. It is a picture of my baby niece Malia who I love.  She is a gift from God.

About sisterweber

I am currently a Mormon missionary serving in western New York for The Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-Day Saints! Let me tell you how strange I am currently - I don't watch tv or any form of entertainment; I left behind my family, home, school, and art I love so so much; I'm working 6 days a week, 14 hours a day to bring people unto Christ; I'm not getting paid (I'm actually paying); and I CHOSE to do it! The reason why? I know this is the most important thing I could ever do. I know that there is nothing in all the world that can bring people greater happiness than the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness. This message I'm sharing with people is unique and true. God loves all of us so much that He has restored the church Jesus Christ set up onto the earth again, and all people have a right to know. Everyone has a right to be as happy as I am.
