A Strange Kind of Person – pen, July 2010

Behold! A typical missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! (better known as mormons)  This is what we call an elder, which is a title used in the bible to describe a teacher.  Usually they are just young 19 yr-old boys walking around in a suit and tie, but they sincerely are only trying to bless the lives of others. And the only reason why they are dressed up in the first place is because everyone needs to be able to recognize them as representatives of Christ.  So don’t be afraid of them when you see one! In fact, go up and say hi! Make them feel appreciated for all they’re sacrificing to serve the Lord.  They won’t bite.  They are basically just like me (a sister missionary) in male form.  And the only thing we are trying to do as we sacrifice 18  months to 2 years of our lives is help others feel the same joy we feel.

About sisterweber

I am currently a Mormon missionary serving in western New York for The Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-Day Saints! Let me tell you how strange I am currently - I don't watch tv or any form of entertainment; I left behind my family, home, school, and art I love so so much; I'm working 6 days a week, 14 hours a day to bring people unto Christ; I'm not getting paid (I'm actually paying); and I CHOSE to do it! The reason why? I know this is the most important thing I could ever do. I know that there is nothing in all the world that can bring people greater happiness than the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness. This message I'm sharing with people is unique and true. God loves all of us so much that He has restored the church Jesus Christ set up onto the earth again, and all people have a right to know. Everyone has a right to be as happy as I am.
