Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of the world, the Holy One of Israel, the Son of God. As I sketched this picture during a meeting (oops. sorry!) shortly after I began my mission, I couldn’t help but reflect upon the magnificent life of our Savior, the Good Shepherd. We really are his sheep, and he will protect us and guide us if we follow his voice. No one is left out of the fold – he loves us all equally. I think of how he told the people in Jerusalem to “come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28), and then how he similarly told the people in the ancient Americas that “if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive” (3 Nephi 9:14). I know that these people recorded in the Book of Mormon were Christ’s sheep as well, and that he is mindful of all his people (see John 10:16 and Alma 26:37). The Good Shepherd loves us all and will never leave us. Ever.
